Summer Mission 2009 - "We are one body"

Our Team:

Our team of 80 members arrived in Tra Vinh at 1 AM July 25, 2009, Vietnam. The team includes: 11 primary care physicans, 2 dentists, 4 pharmacists, 6 nurses, 1 Obstetrician/Gynecologist, 2General Surgeons, and 1 ENT/Head & Neck Surgeon along with young team of supportive staffs.

Our Patients:

After serving for 6 years in the North, the team traveled back down South. From July 26 - 31, 2009 our team treated 2,000 patients in 5 hamlets in Tra Vinh Province. This week was particularly difficult. The travel time was much less than previous years but the sick patients were numerous. We had never seen so many children with congenital heart defects before. This was truly overwhelming.

From August 3-7, 2009 the team came to Can Tho Province. All surgical patients from Tra Vinh were taken here and put up in a hotel with their families. Added to those patients were a large number of patients with severe neck masses that went undetected by local physicians for many years. The surgical team was overwhelmed.
